For the second year creating and inspiring strong Black Fashion Week Montreal started off last night May 30th, 2014 at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church where cultures intertwined with this years theme JUST Fashion, ONLY Men & LIMITED Edition.

The presentation of ready-to-wear fashion that evolved to luxury and high-end fashion of limited pieces, brought a diversity which left the attendees in aww through their use of prints, beautiful bold colours and styles with that perfect mix in kicking off day 1 with a line up of cultural talents:

Opening the night with ever talented Montreal designer Helmer who believes in using natural fabrics and incorporating textiles that showcases his elaborate luxury designs, through his out of the box take on fashion in his use of materials and structure.

Crazy About Black : Montreal born but raised in Europe with a background in ready-to-wear fashion and experience in bridal and leather. Her craft for fashion brought to life Crazy About Black for that active women who is looking for style with comfort.

Cocody : This dynamic duo with a minimalistic approach to fashion in incorporating their travels into their designs through their use of prints and fabrics. Which they showcased last night their vision in that diversity is key and the fruit of their labor in blending there Haitian background into their collection.

Annie Melissa Etienne : Her collection was playful with a geek chic twist with her use of accessories, fabric, and embellishment to inspire that chic yet modern women to successorizing in The Look.

Tim Creation - La Legende : His flamboyant interpretation of middle eastern meets African queen through his prints, draping and detailing. The Look of lux in his creations and originality.

The night closed with Mitra Ghavamian a Toronto based designer with a background in film and theatre who had strong evolvement in action films such as X-Men and Bulletproof Monk. Her collection brought the dramatic with her creation based on movement and gesture though props that where integrated into the presentation.


So, makes this year The Look on creating fashionable memories with that perfect mix of culture and creativity by attending tonight’s fashion show.
